Mickelson's renewed sense of confidence
SAN FRANCISCO – Funny thing about confidence, and how it can disappear or spread. In Phil Mickelson’s case, his improved putting seems to have perked up all parts of his game. He’s playing like a kid with a new toy, with precision and enthusiasm, with a stalker’s mentality that he can birdie every hole.
All that has parlayed itself into a 3-0 record for Mickelson so far at the Presidents Cup. Mickelson has won with three different partners - Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard and Sean O’Hair.
He’s led the way in all three. I’m not worried about his putting stroke anymore. I’m worried about his shoulders.
