Saunders gets sponsor exemption into Boise
One week after Arnold Palmer celebrates his 80th birthday, his grandson, Sam Saunders, will play his first PGA Tour-sanctioned event. He has received a sponsor exemption to the Albertsons Boise Open, which will be played Sept. 17-20 at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho. Saunders, who played college golf at Clemson, turned pro after shooting 81-76 to miss match play at the U.S. Amateur.
Boise will also serve as the pro debut for Rickie Fowler.
