Players dominate No. 2 at TPC Boston

NORTON, Mass. – Only 14 and working just his second PGA Tour round ever, the kid has already been part of something his old man has never seen. A double-eagle.
Colin McCabe, my son, had the good fortune to be the standard-bearer when John Senden holed a 4-iron from 250 yards at the 562-yard, par-5 second, the first double-eagle in Deutsche Bank Championship history.
“It was sick,” Colin told me, and while I don’t know for sure, I’ve been told that that means it was a pretty good thing to witness.
What’s more, that second hole at TPC Boston provided fireworks throughout the group, because Cabrera made a 6-foot eagle putt and Verplank took a birdie, making it a tidy 6-under score for the threesome.
