Titleist announced it has reached a multi-year equipment deal with Rickie Fowler, the No. 1 player in the Golfweek/amateurgolf.com Rankings who turned professional following a U.S. victory at the Walker Cup this past weekend.

Fowler, who went undefeated during his matches against Great Britain & Ireland, will use Titleist golf balls and clubs, wear a Titleist glove and carry a Titleist golf bag. The side of his headwear will feature the Titleist Pro V1 script.

That leaves other on-course endorsement opportunities open for the 20-year-old standout, who is currently negotiating other deals.

“We’ll be making some announcements here in a week or two,” said John Mascatello, the CEO of management firm SFX. Fowler will be represented by SFX’s Sam MacNaughton.

Fowler, a former Oklahoma State player, is in negotiations with Puma for an apparel and footwear deal. He is set to make his professional debut at the Nationwide Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open in Idaho this week.

In a written statement, Wally Uihlein, chairman and CEO of the Acushnet Co., which owns the Titleist brand, said: “Although he is only 20 years old, he has already played extensively at the highest level of amateur golf. The experience he gained in college and as a member of the two victorious Walker Cup teams and a Palmer Cup team is immeasurable as he embarks upon his goal to succeed at the highest level of professional golf.”

Fowler attended Oklahoma State for the past two years where he was a two-time Ping All-American First Team and All-Big 12 First Team selection. Among his achievements: He became the first freshman to win the Ben Hogan Award, presented annually to the top men’s golfer based on performance in college and amateur golf.

Fowler won three collegiate events in two years, including the 2008 Big 12 Championship. His career also includes consecutive wins at the Sunnehanna Amateur in 2007 and 2008, and the Players Amateur in 2007. Fowler also has competed in the past two U.S. Opens, finishing T-60 in 2008. He missed the cut this year.

Fowler currently plays the Titleist Pro V1x ball, Titleist 909D2 driver (7.5 degree), King Cobra S9-1 fairway metal (15.0 degree), Titleist 585H hybrid (17.0 degree), 680 irons (4-9), AP2 2-iron, Vokey Design pitching (47 degree), sand (53 degree) and lob (59 degree) wedges and a Scotty Cameron Newport putter.
