Ogilvy’s turnaround inexplicable
Saturday, September 26, 2009
ATLANTA – So, for the first two days you make nine bogeys, a double, and shoot 8 over to sit dead last in a field of 30. Then you make six birdies in a bogey-free 64 to roar up the Tour Championship leaderboard.
Swing changes? Different clubs? Long, exhaustive session on the couch with the sports psychologist? Come on, what prompted the third-round turn-around at East Lake, Geoff Ogilvy?
“No idea,” Ogilvy said, after starting the day 8 over and finishing it at 2 over.
But pressed further, Ogilvy dug deep to come up with an explanation.
Amen to that.
