U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover recorded an ace in the second round of the Shell Houston Open Friday.
Glover, used a 6-iron the 206-yard 16th hole of Redstone Country Club’s Tournament Course and moved from 1-under-par to 3-under-par, and just three shots off the lead.
It was the 27th hole-in-one in the history of the Shell Houston Open, but the first one at the Tournament Course and the first since 2005 when Stephen Leaney and Jason Allred both recorded aces.
For Glover it is his third ace in PGA Tour competition. He recorded a hole-in-one at the Cialis Western Open in 2004 and Mercedes Benz Championships in 2006.
