On a long Sunday, a little early work

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ask any player to name you the best caddies on Tour, and surely many would offer up the names of the men carrying the bag for any of the top 5 starting Sunday: Billy Foster (Lee Westwood), Jim “Bones” Mackay (Phil Mickelson), Andy Prodger (K.J. Choi), Steve Williams (Tiger Woods) and Joe Lacava (Fred Couples). All have won big tournaments, including majors; Williams has been on Woods’ bag for all but one of his 14 major triumphs (the exception being the 1997 Masters, when Woods employed Mike “Fluff” Cowan).
No surprise, then, that two of the caddies seen out on the course doing some homework early Sunday morning at Augusta National were Foster and Williams. Williams was seen in a T-shirt and shorts coming off the back side, walking up the 10th fairway; Foster was leaving the 15th hole and headed to No. 13, already dressed in his Masters jumpsuit.
What did Foster think of the Sunday hole locations?
“A mix, really,” he said.
And the toughest?
Foster paused for a second: “No. 1 (tucked back right, 30 yards on). That’s going to be a bit tricky.”
