WEEK 14, MATCH 1: Jim McCabe ($3,152,733; 6-7-0) vs. Sean Martin ($4,337,042; 6-6-1)

JIM MCCABE

Verizon Heritage

Site: Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Courses: Harbour Town Golf Link (6,973 yards, par 71)

Purse: $5.7 million

Winner’s share: $1,026,000

Best bet: K.J. Choi. Tough to ignore the quiet and unheralded Choi. He’s made a remarkable turnaround after having fallen to 93rd on money list in 2009. Has yet to miss a cut in eight starts and while he hasn’t played Hilton Head since 2001, it’s a course that suits his style of play.

Ace up my sleeve: Bryce Molder. Steady performer all season, he’s finished in the top 10 four times and he nearly won in Houston two weeks ago. Looks well suited to Harbour Town.

SEAN MARTIN

Best bet: Jim Furyk. I’m taking a chance here. Furyk missed the cut last week, and missed the cut at last year’s Heritage, but I’m hoping he can rebound and that my other Aces are too scared to pick him. Before 09, he’d finished 4-MC-2-2 in the four previous Heritages.

Ace up my sleeve: K.J. Choi. Choi won’t be outside the top 50 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index much longer. He’s there because of a poor 2009, but making his way up the rankings. He’s made the cut in all eight starts, finished in the top 25 six times and the top-5 in two of his past three starts.

WEEK 14, MATCH 2: Lance Ringler ($2,718,147; 6-6-1) vs. Jeff Babineau ($2,063,254; 6-5-2)

LANCE RINGLER

Best bet: Luke Donald. Luke Donald He shot 65-66 on the weekend last year to place secod at Harbour Town. I look for that to continue this week and for Donald to get things going back in the right direction after missing the cut last week at Augusta.

Ace up my sleeve: Stewart Cink. Cink has made nine out 10 cuts in his career at Harbour Town, including two victories. Even though his last victory at this event came in 2004, Cink has to always be considered a threat to win this event.

JEFF BABINEAU

Best bet: Scott Verplank. The medium hitters of the Tour are too smart not to take advantage of shorter venues such as Harbour Town Golf Links.

Ace up my sleeve: Davis Love III. C’mon, this guy almost has a winner’s tartan jacket for every day of the week!
