Oral Roberts claimed its 13th consecutive Summit League title Tuesday at Oaks Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., the nation’s longest Division I conference winning streak.
The Golden Eagles, No. 75 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished at 80-over 932, 33 strokes ahead of runner-up South Dakota State.
Since winning its first title in 1998 – the same year the Summit League began sponsoring women’s golf – Oral Roberts has won by an average of 41 strokes. Its closest victory was a six-stroke win over UMKC in 1999.
Oral Roberts’ sophomore Amber Hensley won the individual title finishing a shot ahead of South Dakota State’s Amy Anderson. Hensley posted rounds of 76-77-75 for a 228 total.
Anderson won the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Junior.
With the victory Oral Roberts advances to its 10th straight NCAA Regional.
