MORELIA, Mexico – Last year, Morelia officials printed 25,000 weekly badges for the Tres Marias Championship. This year, with the announcement of Lorena Ochoa’s retirement, they have increased that number to 40,000. And they are sold out.

Tres Marias is an incredibly difficult course for spectators. While the mountainous setting is beautiful, it’s a bear to walk. Three holes are closed to spectators on the back nine: Nos. 13, 14 and 17. On many holes, fans can line only one side of the fairway, which means getting a glimpse of Ochoa over the weekend will be difficult.

The Mexican icon tees off at 9:20 a.m. CST with good friends Ai Miyazato and Natalie Gulbis.
