Pettersson to skip Bridgestone for beach
Monday, January 31, 2011
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – Carl Pettersson won’t be in Akron next week playing at the Bridgestone Invitational, but instead playing with his kids at the beach.
The Canadian Open champion has a family vacation scheduled with another family on the North Carolina shore the week of the Akron event and was unwilling to miss the week, since the family missed it last year due to a death in his wife’s family.
“Its just another golf tournament,” Pettersson said.
The N.C. State graduate will return to action at the PGA Championship in two weeks and then will play the Wyndham Championship before the FedEx Cup playoffs start.
