Brandon Ng of Toronto has given a verbal commitment to Wake Forest. Ng, 17, is Golfweek’s fourth-ranked golfer in Canada, and is No. 37 overall for the class of 2011.

Ng, who attends Upper Canada College, narrowed his choices to Duke, Michigan, San Diego and Texas before choosing Wake Forest.

“I felt really comfortable with the school when I went for the visit, and feel like it’s a place where I can get a lot better and go to a great school,” Ng said of his decision. “I also know that Coach (Jerry) Haas and (Dan) Walters can help me get a lot better.”

Ng was the 2009 Canadian and Ontario Juvenile champion. He advanced to match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur last month, and also qualified for the U.S. Amateur at Chambers Bay, but did not make it to match play. readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
