EmailEuropean Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie announced Sunday his three wild card selections to join the Euro squad against Team USA at Celtic Manor in October.
Montgomerie chose Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald and Edoardo Molinari. All three were good choices, but one could debate that Monty should have picked Justin Rose or Paul Casey.
In case Montgomerie needs any support with his selection, the three players he chose were the top three available according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index at the time of his picks.

U.S. captain Corey Pavin will announce his four captain’s picks on Sept. 7. Eight players have already secured a spot on the team via points: Phil Mickelson (1), Hunter Mahan (2), Bubba Watson (3), Jim Furyk (4), Steve Stricker (5), Dustin Johnson (6), Jeff Overton (7) and Matt Kuchar (8).
