Paula Creamer grabs her injured thumb after hitting a shot at the Honda PTT LPGA Thailand.

CHONBURI, Thailand – Paula Creamer walked off the 18th green Thursday in tears. Her torrid start to 2010 seemingly slowed by a left thumb injury that won’t go away.

Creamer birdied the first four holes at the Honda PTT LPGA Thailand and was 5 under through 10. Bogeys on the 16th and 17th, however, left her at 3 under.

After signing her scorecard, Creamer iced her thumb as she tearfully explained the soreness to her father and agent. She then went to see the on-site medical staff.

Creamer first injured her thumb hitting out of the rough at the Wegmans LPGA last June and withdrew from two events. The pain continued in the winter months as she received two cortisone shots during the offseason.
