MARANA, Ariz. – What is the hurry? What is the “time sensitive” issue that has prompted the PGA Tour to clear its clubhouse for the presentation of a Tiger Woods statement Friday?
Theories have been floating in the desert air, but a reliable source within the PGA Tour has offered what appears to be a viable one: Woods is still involved in rehab and is making this statement on his brief time away from the facility, that he will be heading back into treatment Monday.
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem told several players what he said to the media Wednesday – that this was not orchestrated to interfere with the Accenture Match Play Championship.
