BOCA RATON, Fla. – Tom Jenkins and Jay Haas shot rounds of 8-under 64 on Friday to take the lead after the first round of the Allianz Championship.
Corey Pavin started on the back side in his second Champions Tour event and briefly reached 8 under before a bogey at the eighth. He finished with a 7-under 65.
Jim Roy, Tim Simpson, Loren Roberts and John Cook were another shot back after rounds of 66.
Defending champion Mike Goodes, who won his lone Champions Tour title here last year, shot 1-under 71 in his opening round.
