Pandolfi named head coach at West Florida
Friday, February 19, 2010
Former Duke golfer Jennifer Pandolfi has been named the head women’s golf coach at West Florida, a Division II school in Pensacola.
Pandolfi, who hails from Navarre, Fla., will replace Robin Dezarn, who will move into an administrative role at the university. Dezarn signed on to assist the Argos with travel and instruction duties in 2009. Pandolfi came to West Florida as an assistant for the women’s golf team last fall after graduating from Duke in 2008.
“Jennifer has experienced personal and team success during her career at Duke University,” West Florida athletic director Dave Scott said. “We have confidence that she will bring that work ethic and attitude to her teams here at the University of West Florida.”
While at Duke, Pandolfi helped lead the Blue Devils to three NCAA Championships and four ACC Championships. She also received Duke's Senior Student-Athlete of the Year honor.
Together with Dezarn, Pandolfi is one of the most decorated female golfers to emerge from the Pensacola area.
“We have a great group of student-athletes and now a young and experienced coach to take them to a new level,” Dezarn said. “I feel that this program is in great hands and can only get better. Jennifer is passionate and has a wealth of knowledge on how to achieve success at a very high level.”
The Argos start their spring season Feb. 21 at the Ann Rhoads Classic in Birmingham, Ala.
