Playing it conservative in Thailand
Friday, February 19, 2010
Maybe this is the year of strictly focusing on our golf games, because the style just isn’t up to par yet. My predictions on the women pulling out some racy outfits at the Honda PTT LPGA in Thailand this week have not come true.
Well, I may be jumping the gun a little because they still have a couple more days to prove me wrong.
On the flip side, there does seem to be a ton of color splashed over Thailand. Some of my predictions were accurate – with Lorena Ochoa in pink, Natalie Gulbis in her matching coordinates, and one of my favorite up-and-comers, Maria Verchenova, spicing it up in her yellow Fila number. Also, like Golfweek's Beth Baldry observed, Michelle Wie was cranking it up a notch with her floral accessory while being true to her Hawaiian roots.
Lastly, this particular piece cannot go without mention. Did anyone see Swedish phenom Maria Hjorth sporting that little black dress? I commend her for pulling out the first dress of the season. But I’m not too sure I would recommend it. The straps were a littler too spicy, in my opinion, for the game of golf. But this is still something I enjoy seeing - ladies with a little edge!
