Thanks to the First Tee of Miami, Florida isn’t just a spring break destination for college students anymore.
The First Tee Miami Spring Break Classic, hosted by the First Tee Miami-Dade Amateur Golf Association at the International Links of Miami-Melreese Country Club in Miami, will be played March 29-30. The 36-hole stroke play event will feature girls’ and boys’ divisions, and will be flighted by age groups. A number of tournament exemptions will be at stake.
All flight winners receive exemptions to the Doral/Publix Junior Classic, and flight winners ages 10 and older receive exemptions to the Optimist International Junior Championship as long as a target score is met. The Optimist will be played July 22-Aug. 10 at PGA National Resort and Spa in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The winners of the boys’ and girls’ 16-18 age divisions receive an invitation to the 2010 Junior Orange Bowl International Championship on Dec. 26-30.
