A person’s appearance can speak as loudly as his or her words.

Last week, millions watched Tiger Woods make his first public statement in three months. This was one time that Woods needed to be dressed to impressed.

However, I thought he made a major fashion faux pas.

With his tie-less ensemble and top button undone, the look was less than impressive. His outfit made him look uneasy, vulnerable and less than the confident.

Maybe this was the casual look that he and his handlers wanted to present. But all he needed was a tie to spiff things up.

“It was frumpy,” celebrity stylist Annie Jagger told me. “His coat was oversized and the neck of his shirt looked three sizes too big.”

Jagger thought Woods had the right idea in making his appearance casual, but would have suggested he wear a more form-fitting suit.
