Asia’s ESPN STAR signs with OneAsia tour

SYDNEY – ESPN STAR Sports has announced a five-year Asian regional television broadcast partnership with the OneAsia golf tour.

In a statement released Thursday in Singapore, ESPN STAR said the exclusive agreement through to 2014 would include live coverage of OneAsia events in 24 countries and territories in Asia.

The OneAsia tournament schedule has 11 confirmed events in 2010, beginning with the Chengdu Open in Beijing on April 1 and concluding with two events in Australia – the Australian Open and the Australian PGA in December.

OneAsia, which is competing with the Asian Tour for sponsorship dollars and players in the region, is made up of the China Golf Association, the Korea Golf Tour, the Korea Golf Association and the PGA of Australia.
