Webb, Ochoa close round with triple-bogeys

SINGAPORE – The 18th hole at Tanah Merah Country Club’s Garden Course claimed several of the world’s top players in the second round, most noteably Lorena Ochoa and Karrie Webb. Both recorded 7s on the closing par 4.

Webb came to the last hole 5 under par. Forced to lay up on her second shot, she hit her third into the water. She pitched on and two-putted for a triple-bogey to finish three shots off the lead.

After bogeying the 17th, Ochoa’s approach on the last hole hit the rocks and found the water. She hit her fourth shot to 35 feet and three-putted. The World No. 1 shot 42 on the back nine to finish with 79. She’s tied for 39th, eight shots back.
