What a difference a year has made for Hurst
SINGAPORE – Vicky Hurst quietly crept up the leaderboard Saturday afternoon with three consecutive birdies on Nos. 15-17 at Tanah Merah Country Club. The LPGA sophomore failed to break par last week in Thailand. She chalked that up to nerves.
“It was just getting adjusted to all the work I put in over the offseason, trying to making it work. I was kind of anxious and nervous,” said Hurst, who shot 69 to sit four shots back of Juli Inkster and Ai Miyazato.
Hurst began her rookie season last year in Singapore and tied for 73rd, beating only three people. What a difference a year can make, or even one week.
