Tiger and the Tour and TV
Here’s a thought that PGA Tour officials can hardly be thrilled about as it tackles a year in which re-negotiations with the networks will kick off.
Let us assume that Tiger Woods leaves his “indefinite” world to return to action at this year’s Masters. Know what that means? He would be playing for the 17th time in the last 75 PGA Tour events, dating back to June of 2008.
Not exactly priceless leverage when you’re nearing negotiations with the networks, is it?
And since we’re discussing Woods and numbers, here is something else: Before he got married, he went 8-for-32 in the major championships, a .250 average. As a married man, he has gone 6-for-18, or .333.
