Polo inks deal with Webb Simpson
Thursday, January 14, 2010
PGA Tour pro Webb Simpson is Polo Ralph Lauren’s newest ambassador for Polo Golf and Polo Ralph Lauren brands worldwide.
“Webb is an incredibly talented athlete who embodies youthfulness and a classic style, making him a perfect fit for the Polo Golf brand,” said David Lauren, Senior Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications for Ralph Lauren.
Simpson, 24, definitely fits into the image that Ralph Lauren and Polo Golf exude, including their elite roster of world-class golfers. Tom Watson, Davis Love III, Luke Donald, Jonathan Byrd and Morgan Pressel are also ambassadors of the brand.
“In order to be the best in golf, it’s important that I wear the best, which is why Polo Golf is a natural choice for me,” said Webb about his new multi-year agreement with the luxury brand. “I grew up wearing Polo and have always loved the classic style it represents.”
Webb hails from Raleigh, North Carolina and is a recent graduate of Wake Forest University. He turned pro in 2008 and was one of two players to earn their 2009 PGA Tour card.
