Perez hopes lightning will strike twice Sunday
HONOLULU – Sitting six strokes off the lead, Pat Perez could be said to be in contention for the final round at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
What goes without saying is that his heart is in San Diego. Just check out his hat, if you don’t believe that.
For the final round, Perez will wear a vibrant, brand new San Diego Chargers hat. His hometown team has the last time slot in today’s NFL playoff lineup, which means for updates, Perez will have to check things out in between swings.
Perez starts his final round at 5 under, tied for 16th.
