Sophomore Michael Hebert, who abruptly left Florida State following the Seminoles’ third-place finish at the NCAA Championship, will resume his college career at Auburn.

Hebert, No. 258 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished 18th individually at the NCAA Championship, following an 11th-place showing at the NCAA Central Regional in May.

“Michael is a great player and an even greater person,” said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. “He brings a lot to our program not only as a golfer, but for what he represents off the course. He is a great fit for Auburn University.”

Hebert, of Orlando, Fla., shot a final-round 64 to propel Florida State to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Central Regional. The Seminoles reached the semifinals at the NCAA Championship before losing to eventual champion Augusta State.

Hebert had a 73.84 scoring average in nine tournaments this season for the Seminoles.

Information from the Auburn athletic department was used in this report.
