Fifteen-year-old Gavin Hall has received a sponsor exemption into the PGA Tour’s Turning Stone Championship, the latest highlight during a whirlwind summer for the lefthander from Pittsford, N.Y.

Hall won the Rochester District Golf Association’s premier amateur event by 18 strokes earlier this month. It proved to be good preparation for last week’s U.S. Junior Amateur, where he shot a tournament-record 62 in stroke-play qualifying, then advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion Jim Liu.

Only a few days after that memorable run, Hall won a U.S. Amateur qualifier to earn a spot in next month’s field at Chambers Bay in University Park, Wash.

And now, with an official announcement expected later today, Hall has received an exemption into next week’s Turning Stone Championship, Aug. 5-8 at Atunyote Golf Club near Syracuse, N.Y.
