SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Bernhard Langer, who will turn 53 on August 27, appears to be ageless. His appearance has changed little in the last 30 years, and he hasn’t gained an ounce of weight.

Who do you do it, Bernhard?

“I can’t explain it,” he answered. “Some of it might be genetics, some might be that I work out, and I kind of watch what I eat -- not all the time, but most of the time. I’m a pretty active person. When you put all of that together with a good metabolism, it helps.”

How much do you work out?

“It changes. When I’m home, I work out a lot more than when I’m on the road. But I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I get plenty of rest. I make sure I get about eight hours of sleep, so all of that over the years probably helps.”
