Some people think Loren Roberts is the best putter in golf. Period.

Here is what Roberts had to say after Saturday’s third round of the U.S. Senior Open, in which he shot a 2-over-par 72:

“I missed a one-footer on the first hole, and I went brain dead on the next five (six, actually). I was 4-over after 7.

“I got up there to just tap it in. Seriously it was like that. I got up there to tap it in, and I don’t know what happened. It just lipped out.

“I really haven’t putted that good this week. I made some five footers, but they’re usually second putts.”

Please removed that best putter label.
