USF’s Fee vacates coaching position
Friday, June 18, 2010
Head men’s golf coach Jim Fee has been appointed the Director of Athletic Events and Championships at the University of South Florida. Fee has been at the helm of the USF men’s golf team since 1996.
USF will launch a national search for Fee’s replacement.
Fee is a former All-American, and considered one of the greatest golfers in USF history. He was a member of the team during USF’s run of 11 consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championship titles from 1979-89. Fee was named Conference USA Coach of the Year in 2000.
Fee will replace Tom Buscemi, who recently announced his resignation to relocate to Denver, Colo., to pursue professional opportunities in the hospitality industry.
“The administrative side of intercollegiate athletics has always been appealing to me, and to be able to take this growth opportunity at my alma mater is very special,” Fee said. “I’m looking forward to the challenges of this position as our Athletic Department continues to excel.”
