PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Tiger Woods shot a laboring 66 out of nowhere. Dustin Johnson took a three-shot lead with an easy 66. Mike Weir shot 83.
But the biggest surprise Saturday at the U.S. Open is this: Phil Mickelson started the day two strokes off the lead and ended seven back.
He shot 73. Worse, he might have shot himself out of it.
