As Julia Boland goes, so goes Texas A&M.

A day after tying an 18-hole school record with an opening 7-under 65, the Aggies senior led her team to victory at the UCF Challenge.

Texas A&M, No. 19 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, closed with a 7-over 295 Tuesday at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla., to finish at 29-over 893, two shots ahead of second-place Georgia State (304). Coastal Carolina was third at 904.

Boland won the individual title with rounds of 65-75-70 for a 6-under 210 total. Her bogey-free 65 included five consecutive birdies, from Nos. 13-17.

“Julia’s round was the best I’ve seen in college golf,” Aggies coach Trelle McCombs said Monday. “Her composure was amazing, and she was in control the entire round.”

It was third title of the season for both the Aggies and Boland. At the first event of the fall season, Texas A&M won its own “Mo”Morial, as Boland finished co-medalist with teammate Sarah Beth Davis. The Aggies closed the fall with a victory at the Challenge at Onion Creek, with Boland edging teammate Ashley Freeman by a shot for the individual title.

Boland is No. 32 in Golfweek’s rankings.

Aggies junior Sarah Zwartynski finished second at 1-under 215 at RedTail. She was the only player in the field to break par in Rounds 1 and 2. Texas A&M’s next-best finisher was Chloe Garner, who tied for 55th.

The Aggies opened the spring with a fifth-place finish at the Central District Invitational.
