Junior Steven Lecuyer led Central Arkansas to a five-stroke victory Tuesday at the Triumph at Pauma Valley.

Lucuyer, No. 476 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot a three-round total of 2-over 215 for a second-place finish. He came in four shots behind Air Force’s Tom Whitney, who posted 2-under 211 and was the only player to finish under par. Whitney shot a tournament-low 3-under 68 in the final round to pick up his third individual title, and his first since last March.

Central Arkansas, No. 84 in Golfweek’s rankings, shot 37-over 889 to capture its first team title since October 2008, at the Skyhawk Classic. The Bears shot a final-round 296, eight strokes better than second-round leader San Francisco, which finished second at 42-over 894. Long Beach State was third at 895.

Whitney, ranked 92nd by Golfweek, birdied eight of his last 23 holes to vault to the top of the leaderboard. He was the only player to break 70 in a round during the 54-hole tournament; he shot 68 in Round 3.

San Francisco had two players finish in the top 4 – Domingo Jojola (7-over 220) and Chris Cunningham (221) came in third and fourth, respectively.
