Agnew powers FSU to victory at Pinehurst
Florida State rolled to a 33-shot victory Tuesday at the Pinehurst Spring Challenge.
The Seminoles, led by individual champion Lacey Agnew, placed three players in the top 4 at Pinehurst (N.C.) No. 6. It was the first college victory for Agnew, a senior, and the second this season for FSU. The Seminoles won the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in the fall.
Florida State closed with a tournament-best 286 in the final round for a 1-under 863 total. Maryland was second (896) and Campbell was third (897).

Agnew posted rounds of 72-70-70 for a 4-under 212 total. Junior Macarena Silva (217) was third and sophomore Maria Salinas (218) tied for fourth.
Agnew has four top-10 finishes this season. She had just one top 10 prior to her senior season.
Maryland’s Christine Shimel followed a second-round 68 with a 75 on Tuesday and finished runner-up at 2-under 214.
