Lake Nona vs. Isleworth: Fashion faceoff
Tuesday, March 23, 2010
After the first round of the Tavistock Cup, Lake Nona leads Isleworth in both score and team fashion.
Tavistock Cup at Isleworth (Rd. 1)
Round 1 of the Tavistock Cup, played March 22 at Isleworth Country Club.
The Tavistock Cup is unique event for two prestigious private clubs in Orlando, Fla., that are home to some of the best professional golfers in the world. What sparks an interest for me is that every spectator, volunteer, media member and player is required to wear red or blue in favor of one of the competing clubs. Isleworth wears red and Lake Nona wears blue.
The sharply dressed Lake Nona team looked sporty in their royal blue polos, which were paired with light grey slacks to seal the deal. The Isleworth team looked nice, but didn’t quite make the cut.
- Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson and Graeme McDowell’s gator skin belts.
- Stuart Appleby’s kangaroo 59 belt buckle.
Looks to lose:
- Ian Poulter’s Smurf-colored shoes. Color is fun and spirited, but let’s save the monochromatic shoes for white and black, please.
- Players from both teams wearing the mismatched colored sweater vests.
