McDonald (No. 34, 2011 ) commits to Miss. State

Ally McDonald has given a verbal committment to play golf at Mississippi State according to Michael Nanney, her high school golf coach at Itawamba Agricultural High School.
McDonald, who is ranked No. 34 in the class of 2011, also considered offers from Ole Miss, South Carolina and Auburn. She was also receiving interest from TCU, Texas A&M and Michigan State.
Longtime Mississippi State head coach Christi Sanders is resigning at the end of the season and Arkansas State coach Ginger Brown-Lemm will take over the Bulldog program this summer.
According to Nanney, McDonald sees herself being a part of building something special at Mississippi State University.
McDonald recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in AJGA events last summer, tied for 11th at the Bubba Conlee Invitational in June and qualified for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in July. This spring McDonald is playing on her school boys’ golf team, where she currently holds a 9-hole scoring average of 37.8.
Both of McDonald’s parents are alumni of Mississippi State.
