Tremps (No. 90, 2011) commits to Virginia
Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Nick Tremps, of San Antonio, has given a verbal commitment to Virginia. Tremps, No. 90 in the class of 2011, is a two-time qualifier of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and has recorded three career top 10s in AJGA events. Tremps is a two-time runner-up in the Texas State Junior Championship and runner-up in the Texas Junior Golf Tour Championship.
“I ultimately decided on Virginia because Virginia coach (Bowen) Sargent and his staff are dedicated to making each player the best golfer he can be and has made the team a national contender in a short period of time,” said Tremps, a juinor at Ronald Reagan High School. “I loved the university, golf courses and short game facility.”
Tremps said he received a lot of interest from many schools but selected Virginia out of a final list that included Texas A&M, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Notre Dame.
