NEC Championship

St. Francis rallied late to win the Northeast Conference Championship Sunday, playing the 18th hole at ChampionsGate (Fla.) Golf Club in 3 under to beat Sacred Heart by one shot.

St. Francis, of Loretto, Pa., shot a final-round 14-over 302 for a 46-over 910 total. Sacred Heart, of Fairfield, Conn., played the 18th hole in even par to close in 305 for a 911 total. Second-round leader Robert Morris, of Pittsburgh, shot 310 to finish third, four shots behind St. Francis.

Fairleigh Dickinson junior Rob Cerabone won the individual title despite closing with an up-and-down round of even-par 72 that included four birdies and four bogeys. Cerabone, who played his final four holes in 1 under, finished the three rounds at 2-over 218, one stroke better than St. Francis’ Joseph Amelia and Robert Morris’ C.G. Mercatoris.

Second-round leader Josh Salah of Sacred Heart shot a final-round 80 to finish in a tie for fifth at 8-over 224.
