PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Phil Mickelson shot 66, despite a closing bogey, and apparently got himself into Players contention. Then it was time to eat.

“I’m going to do the same thing I did the last five days – go to Five Guys burgers,” Mickelson said after making seven birdies. “Sixth day in a row. I can’t stop going there.”

I’m not sure who his nutritionist is. Krispy Kreme the morning after the Masters. Five Guys daily at the Players. But, hey, he just won his fourth major. Let him pig out.

Happily.

But then, as he pointed out, he’s not alone.

“Michelle Obama said her favorite thing to do is to sneak out of the White House and go to Five Guys,” Mickelson said.
