Blasberg, Puma were a perfect match
Discussion boards: Share your memories of Erica Blasberg
Erica Blasberg’s sudden death last weekend has saddened and stunned golf fans, friends and family worldwide. She had the talent and determination needed to make it on the LPGA. But it wasn’t only her golf game that received attention, her beauty, attitude and charisma also intrigued us.
Puma picked up on this rising star in 2006, just two years after Blasberg turned pro. The company signed her as one of its leading athletic representatives for its new golf division. The two partners suited each other brilliantly. Puma brought a cool, youthful vibe to the course, and Blasberg wore its apparel with style and confidence.
“Erica was a solid player on the course, and brought a fresh sense of youthfulness, fun, beauty and energy to the brand,” said Bob Philion, president of Cobra-Puma Golf. “She will be greatly missed. Puma extends our deepest sympathies to Erica’s family, friends, peers and those on the tour who have worked, played and had the pleasure of knowing her.”
