Fabian Gomez has moved into position for his second Nationwide Tour victory of the season.

Gomez, who won earlier this year at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, fired an 8-under 64 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Scott Gutschewski entering the final round of the BMW Charity Pro-Am. Adam Bland (66) is two shots back, and Justin Hicks (69), Ryan Armour (66) and Kevin Chappell (68), already a winner on tour this season, are tied for fourth, three strokes behind.

Gomez, starting on No. 10, made five birdies in a six-hole stretch on his inward nine to post a bogey-free round at Bright’s Creek Golf Club and finish at 18-under 197, one stroke ahead of Gutschewski, who shot 67 at Carolina Country Club.

Martin Piller, the 36-hole leader, shot even-par 71 in Round 3 to remain at 13 under, five back of Gomez. Tommy Biershenk made the biggest move of the day, shooting a 10-under 62 at Carolina Country Club to jump from T-88 to T-17.
