Southwest: Miernicki keeps Oregon in front

Oregon remained in first place Friday at the Southwest Regional in Santee, Calif.
The Ducks, the top seed in the regional, shot a 2-over 290 in the second round to post a two-round total of 8-over 584 at Carlton Oaks Golf Club. California is two shots back after a second-round 292. UNLV is third at 12 over par, followed by Augusta State (13 over) and Tennessee (14 over). Central Florida is sixth at 20 over, six shots back of fifth place. The top five teams receive automatic bids to the NCAA Championship.
Cal State Northridge’s Nick Delio, who sits at 3-under 141, leads the individual race. Oregon’s Daniel Miernicki and Eddie Olson are tied for second, one shot back. There is a four-way tie for fourth at even par.
