Washington’s Richard Lee shot 68 and Darren Wallace shot 69 as the Huskies broke away from the pack Friday at Gold Mountain Golf Complex in Bremerton, Wash. Washington extended its lead to 16 shots.

Denver’s Espen Kofstad, playing as an individual, shot 71 and was tied for second with Lee at 3-under 140.

Colorado State, which began the first round tied for second, dropped out of the top 5 after shooting 10-over 298. USC shot 289 and moved from sixth to T-3.

The top 5 teams at the end of the third round earn a berth at the NCAA Championship at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn., June 1-6.
