BOSTON – Allen Wronowski, a club pro in Maryland for the last 30 years, has been elected to a two-year term as president of the PGA of America.

Among his first responsibilities will be the selection of the U.S. captain for the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah.

Wronowski is the PGA director of golf at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md., where he first started as an assistant pro in 1979. He first began serving the PGA of America in 1983. He had spent the last four years as a PGA officer, first as secretary and the last two years as vice president.

Wronowski succeeds Jim Remy as president. Ted Bishop of Franklin, Ind., was elected vice president, and Derek Sprague of Malone, N.Y., will be the secretary.
