The No. 1-ranked women’s team is about to get even stronger.
Emma Talley, the top-ranked player in the 2012 class, has given a verbal commitment to Alabama. Talley, a six-time winner on the AJGA, is expected to join an Alabama team that currently is ranked No. 1 by Golfweek.
“God has really blessed me and I’m really excited,” Talley, 16, told Golfweek.
Talley, of Princeton, Ky., won twice on the AJGA in 2010, including an eye-opening performance at the Huntsville Junior, where she shattered the 54-hole girls scoring mark (15-under 198) and set the record for largest margin of victory (22 strokes). She also was a member of the victorious U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team.
