‘Exhausted’ Perry WDs from Deutsche Bank

NORTON, Mass. – Another sure sign that Kenny Perry appears resigned to his Champions Tour status? He withdrew from the Deutsche Bank Championship and is thus done with the FedEx Cup playoffs.
Sitting 90th in the FedEx Cup standings, Perry would have needed a strong performance at TPC Boston to move on to Chicago and the BMW Championship. But having turned 50 Aug. 10, Perry seems content to move into PGA Tour retirement and settle onto the older circuit.
He reportedly is “exhausted” and back at his Kentucky home to rest.
Though he’s played fairly well in spurts this season – Perry has one top 10 and seven top-25 finishes – he has missed three cuts in his last five tournaments and appeared worn down at Barclays last week.
He has talked all year of continuing to play in his favorite PGA Tour tournaments – Phoenix, Colonial, the Travelers Championship in Connecticut among them – but then again, Perry has never denied that his schedule was a work in progress.
And presently, it doesn’t include the Deutsche Bank Championship, BMW Championship, Tour Championship and perhaps any other 2010 PGA Tour stop.
