Matt Every, serving a three-month suspension from the PGA Tour, will compete in a Hooters Tour event next week in South Carolina, tour officials told Golfweek.

Every, 26, was suspended by the PGA Tour for “conduct unbecoming a professional” after his arrest in July on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. He will be eligible to return to the PGA Tour at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic, the final event of the season.

Every's agent, Kevin Canning, told Golfweek this is the only Hooters event Every is scheduled to compete in.

Every was one of three men arrested July 6 and charged with possession of a controlled substance at the Isle Casino Hotel in Bettendorf, Iowa, during the John Deere Classic.

The suspension will provide Every, who is 149th on the money list with $438,517, only one chance to finish in the top 125 on the money list and retain his Tour card.

Regardless of how he does PGA Tour Q-School, he will have Nationwide Tour status for 2011 based on his victory in the 2009 Nationwide Tour Championship and his finish on this year’s PGA Tour money list.

Every finished 10th on the Hooters Tour money list in 2007.
