Taylor Boggs, of Fulton, Miss., has given a verbal commitment to play golf for the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Boggs also took unofficial visits to Delta State, Ole Miss and Itawamba Community College before deciding on Louisiana-Monroe.
“I really liked the coach (Erik Hsu). He is very enthusiastic and excited about the future of his golf program,” Boggs said. “They also have great indoor and outdoor practice facilities, and I loved the campus.”
Boggs was the runner-up at the 2010 Mississippi 4A State Golf Championship. His high school, Itawamba Agricultural High School, has won three of the past four state championships. Boggs also notched second-place finishes at the 2009 Greystone Junior Classic in Nashville, Tenn., and the Quail Hollow Junior Classic in McComb, Miss.
