Putnam leads Utah Championship by one

Michael Putnam put up a second consecutive 66 Friday at Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah to take a one shot lead at the Utah Championship.

Putnam, who is at 10-under 132 for the tournament, got on a roll mid-round, making eagle at the par-5 10th, then following it up with three birdies in the next six holes. Putnam is chasing his first win on the Nationwide Tour.

Cliff Kresge (67) trails Putnam by one shot with Rob Oppenheim (67) in third at 8-under 134.

First-round leader Chris Kirk, who also leads the tour in earnings so far this season, dropped from the top of the leaderboard into a tie for 29th after a second-round 74. Kirk opened with 65.
